Both crypto celebrities have agreed that a Dogecoin Ethereum bridge would be an amazing idea

In an interview with AI researcher Lex Fridman posted to YouTube last week, Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, spoke out in favour of a Dogecoin and Ethereum bridge. While Dogecoin currently supports merge mining with Litecoin, the merger of these two cryptos in particular seems implausible to Buterin , since by now Dogecoin is larger than Litecoin.

IprettyMuskAgreeButerin suggests to perhaps implement merge mining with his own crypto, although the specifics were not made clear during the interview. He did clarify however, that such mergers have become easier to puruse than at the beginnings of blockchain and Ethereum. Shortly after the interview was published, Musk took to Twitter with the words “I pretty much agree with Vitalik.”

Self-proclaimed “Dogefather” Elon Musk has been an ardent advocate of blockchain for a long time, but had recently undergone an impactful schism with Bitcoin. On May 13, he announced the withdrawal of Bitcoin from Tesla transactions due to environmental concerns, and critical tweets of the world’s largest crypto karate-chopped its price several times.

Hints of Doge taking Bitcoin’s role in Tesla have suggested Musk to be viewing the meme-token as a viable alternative. He announced working on improvements, and suggested changes of Doge prior to the show. Ten times the block time, ten times the blocksize and a price drop by factor hundred. Then, Musk states, Dogecoin is better than Bitcoin.

MakeDogeGreat-1Vitalik Buterin sees a risk of centralization in such a crank of scalability. However, he and Elon Musk seem to have a common drive, and the implementation of the bridge becomes a possibility. In Buterin’s eyes, the result could be as follows:

Bitcoin number one, Dogecoin, c’mon, deserves to be number three… or number two and Ethereum can be whatever that other number is.
