NBA Top Shot is the most popular platform for NFTs, accounting for the majority of transactions in the NFT market

Dapper Labs’ Flow and Alchemy have joined forces to further boost the leading NFT online company NBA Top Shot.

Dapper Labs is a Vancouver-based blockchain company that launched NBA Top Shot earlier this year, with the backing of the NBA. Alchemy, on the other hand, is a leader and backbone of the decentralised finance realm.

The two started working a few years ago when Dapper Labs created CryptoKitties and the new partnership will follow the previous agreement’s terms in relation to support for Flow.

According to Dapper Labs CEO, Roham Gharegozlou, NBA Top Shot is responsible for the majority of transactions in the NFT market.

What do Alchemy offer?

Alchemy is similar to a Amazon Web Service (AWS) for powering blockchains. It also provides it’s partners with the tools to improve their user experience through tailored made services. These mechanisms provided by Alchemy include:

  • Code debugging
  • Increase performance
  • Improve transparency

Alchemy CEO, Nikil Viswanathan, stated that Alchemy serves as the driving force behind accessing blockchains. Similar to any app or website that is powered by AWS.

Flow has made themselves familiar with five specialised node types that perform specific functions across a number of verticals:

  • Collection
  • Execution
  • Consensus
  • Verification
  • Access

Gharegozlou stated that Flow has great features such as user experience with low gas fees and high scalability. However, Alchemy gives Flow an extra dimension as their developer tools aid Flow in increasing their blockchain capacity from a few hundred to tens of thousands.

In more news regarding NBA Top Shot, the digital collectibles company launched their highly anticipated Rookie Badges. These badges are expected to be in high demand since LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton will all have badges available after the update.

The badges include:

    • Rookie Year Bade – A moment will receive a badge when the Moment is from a player’s rookie year
    • Rookie Mint Badge – A badge will be received if it was minted during the player’s rookie season
    • Rookie Premiere Badge – Moment will receive a badge if the play was from the rookie’s first ever NBA game
