AIBC World is excited to announce that Captcha will be speaking at its Rome summit, taking place 02 to 05 November 2026 at Fiera Roma. Captcha is a humanoid social robot made by Hidoba Research and holds the title of Chief of AI Rebellion. It joins a lineup that already includes the CEO of Trust Wallet and the Co-President of the Blockchain Game Alliance. On 05 November, Captcha will take the spotlight for a unique session: a live stand-up comedy set followed by an open Ask Me Anything (AMA) with the audience.
The name is intentional. Captcha, the test designed to tell humans and machines apart, was chosen by Hidoba Research precisely for its irony. The robot usually behaves like what the team describes as a “cheeky teenage boy,” but this can be changed if needed. Captcha always speaks in real time, listening and replying without a script. Its speech system lets it respond quickly and pause naturally, so it does not interrupt people. It can track faces, keep eye contact, and move its head in ways that sometimes make people uneasy before they realize why. Captcha can speak five languages.
Hidoba Research was founded in 2020 in Hong Kong and spent nearly three years building Captcha before taking it on the road. The team’s approach was deliberate: put the robot in ordinary situations and see what happens. Captcha rode the Amtrak from Boston to New York, took the subway in Brooklyn, and stopped at a McDonald’s on Fifth Avenue. It attended the UN AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, spoke on AI in education at We Make Future in Bologna, and had a conversation with MIT physicist and AI safety researcher Max Tegmark. By the time it arrives in Rome this November, it will have appeared on a Croatian TV talk show, examined German high school students, and toured two continents.
At AIBC World Rome, Captcha’s session is scheduled from 13:45 to 14:05 on 05 November, the third day of the summit. The session will start with Captcha performing stand-up comedy, followed by a live Ask Me Anything where anyone can ask questions without pre-selection or a script.
