Mexican fintech Kapital has secured $125 million in new financing from institutional investors led by Tru Arrow Partners and Fasanara Capital. The financing, announced 9 September 2026, combines equity and debt and extends the company’s 2025 Series C funding.

Kapital plans to use the funds to develop its AI and data capabilities and expand its financial services across Mexico, the United States, Latin America and Europe.

Kapital reported approximately $50 million in net income for the first half of 2026. Its loan portfolio increased 220 per cent year over year to more than $1.7 billion, while deposits rose 234 per cent to more than $3.5 billion. The company reported a 2.86 per cent non-performing loan ratio and a 34.9 per cent efficiency ratio.

Backing future fintech growth

Kapital has raised $125 million in new financing as it continues to expand its use of artificial intelligence across its financial operations. The financing also provides additional resources for international expansion. According to the company, Kapital serves more than 350,000 customers across Mexico, Latin America, the United States, and Europe.

Tru Arrow Partners led the funding round, while Fasanara Capital provided debt financing tied to Kapital’s lending business. Cervin Ventures, Niya Partners, and Overlook Capital also participated in the equity portion of the deal. The financing combines two forms of capital. Equity funding supports technology development, infrastructure, and expansion, while debt financing helps fund lending activities.

Commenting on the investment, Adam Silverschotz, co-founder and managing partner of Tru Arrow Partners, said Kapital has distinguished itself through a combination of financial discipline, regulated infrastructure, and advanced AI capabilities.

Silverschotz stated, “We believe Kapital is exceptionally well positioned to lead this rapidly growing sector, and we are pleased to co-lead this new round, which represents another important milestone for the financial institution.”

Francesco Filia, founder and CEO of Fasanara Capital, said Kapital’s growth reflects the strength of its business model, its competitive edge in AI-driven solutions, and strong market demand for its offerings.

Additionally, Kapital is putting itself between a technological platform and a conventional bank. While software businesses usually move more quickly and concentrate on technology, traditional banks benefit from deposits, regulatory licensing, and existing client ties. Both are incorporated into Kapital’s model. The success of its finance business and the utility of its technology platform as more companies use it will determine its long-term worth.

Kapital’s performance in 2026

While continuing to grow its lending and deposit activities, Kapital recorded about $50 million in net income in the first half of 2026. Its deposits hit $3.5 billion, indicating a 234 per cent yearly growth, and its loan portfolio touched $1.7 billion, up 220 per cent year over year. Additionally, the company reported a client base of over 350,000, an efficiency ratio of 34.9 per cent, and a non-performing loan ratio of 2.86 per cent.

The loan portfolio of Kapital increased by 220 per cent annually, reaching approximately $1.7 billion. Further background is provided by the company’s reported non-performing loan percentage of 2.86 per cent. Maintaining asset quality becomes more crucial as lending grows.

Kapital reported more than $3.5 billion in deposits, up 234 per cent from a year earlier. The growth suggests customers are using the company for more than borrowing. Deposits can lead to more frequent customer interactions and provide greater visibility into business cash flows.

Powering business innovation

Large enterprises usually have several financing alternatives, established banking relationships, and specialised finance teams. Even when their businesses are doing well, smaller enterprises may find it more difficult to obtain working capital because they sometimes have fewer resources. In order to assess companies more effectively and possibly increase smaller businesses’ access to financial services, Kapital’s strategy makes use of technology and data analysis.

According to René Saúl, CEO and co-founder of Kapital, the company’s goals are to help businesses overcome their financial difficulties and use AI to improve access to services that are often reserved for larger organisations.

US market opportunity

The United States is one of the world’s largest and competitive financial markets. Businesses already have access to a wide range of banks, lenders, and financial technology providers.

Kapital’s potential advantage lies in serving companies that operate across both Mexico and the United States. The next stage of Kapital will concentrate on growing its financial products, technology, and geographic reach. In addition to reporting almost $50 million in net income for the first half of 2026, the company has already recorded strong growth in loans and deposits. The most recent funding gives money to keep making investments in data systems, artificial intelligence, and growth initiatives.
