He also previously served as Managing Director at Bitpanda, a leading European digital asset exchange. Earlier in his career, he spent more than six years at the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, where he worked on digital asset and innovation policy.
During his time at the FCA, Bauer-Langgartner also worked on FCA Innovate and helped set up the world’s first regulatory sandbox.
Bauer-Langgartner will join the Day 1 panel at 11:30 on 3 November on AIBC Stage:
Policing VASPs: Onchain Security, AML and the New Enforcement Reality
The discussion will examine how regulators and enforcement bodies are approaching compliance failures, market abuse and illicit finance across the digital asset sector. It will also explore how exchanges, custodians and service providers can adapt as regulatory scrutiny increases.
Regulation remains a major issue for businesses working in digital assets. For businesses operating in the sector, regulatory requirements increasingly shape how they approach compliance, risk and market operations.
Bauer-Langgartner brings experience from regulators, financial institutions, digital asset businesses and policy roles to the discussion. His participation adds a policy and regulatory perspective to AIBC World’s wider programme across blockchain, AI, fintech and emerging technology.
AIBC World 2026 takes place at Fiera Roma from 2 to 5 November, bringing together industry leaders, founders, investors, regulators and technology companies for four days of keynotes, panels, exhibitions and networking.
Bauer-Langgartner will join the Day 1 Conference panel to examine how regulators and digital asset businesses are responding to new compliance and enforcement requirements.
Attendees can expect to hear directly from Bauer-Langgartner on the regulatory and compliance issues facing the digital asset sector, drawing on his experience across the ECB, FCA, Bitpanda and Chainalysis.
