Jimmy Nguyen

Jimmy Nguyen is one of the world’s top advocates for blockchain and its use to power other digital technologies – including FinTech, Metaverse, IoT, and Artificial Intelligence.  His company Blockchain for All provides advisory, education & technology solutions to help enterprises and government entities implement blockchain applications. He is a renowned public speaker, media commentator and advocate for making blockchain useful as a data technology, rather than just for speculative cryptocurrency investment trading.

Jimmy is a partner in a bold new venture to build “Metaverse ecosystem complexes” across five global regions over the next five years. The multi-use complexes will be anchored by immersive theaters/performance spaces fitted with technology to enable “phygital” (physical + digital) experiences for audience members; they will further house Metaverse and volumetric production studios, educational centre, potentially start-up hub, and even an adjacent hotel/hospitality property.  The first site will be in London, UK and is supported by USD $100 million from a Monaco investment fund; the second site is targeted for the UAE.

Jimmy is also the founding Board member of InvoiceMate, which provides next generation automation of invoicing operations. Its solution uses distributed ledger technology to increase efficiency of invoice processing, provide trusted data, and enhance fraud resilience.  Formed in the UAE, the company also operates in Pakistan and across the MENA & South Asia region – with is partnering with leading banks in Pakistan (and later across the Middle East) to offer invoice financing for SMEs to quickly access cash needed for their operations.

Jimmy led formation of the Switzerland-based BSV Blockchain Association (Bitcoin Association for BSV) and served as its global Founding President until September 2022.  Using the original Bitcoin protocol, BSV is a massively scaled blockchain that efficiently handles high transaction volume and greater data capacity at fast speed for low transaction fees – capabilities needed to deliver distributed ledger applications at enterprise and government levels. Across the world, Jimmy has advanced education on the need for blockchain scaling, real utility, and legal compliance – speaking to government, business and technical leaders across many countries in North America, the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Previously, Jimmy served as CEO of nChain Group, a worldwide leader in research and development of blockchain technologies (with one of the industry’s largest patent portfolios), and was Chair of its Strategic Advisory Board.

Jimmy is consistently ranked in’s CryptoLeaders list of top 100 “Crypto & Bitcoin Influencers” in the world.  In January 2020, he was recognized as one of the “Most Influential Individuals in Blockchain” by TurgenSec, an information security research company. SFOX has listed Jimmy as one of “The BSV People You Need to Know.”  In October 2022, he received a BSV Blockchain Global Visionary Award.

Before entering the blockchain industry full time, Jimmy had a 21-year career as an intellectual property, digital media & technology lawyer, and was a partner at three major U.S. law firms – most recently Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.  He served as Chair of the California Bar’s Intellectual Property Section.  In 2008, Lawdragon named Jimmy (at only age 36) one of the “500 Leading Lawyers in America” and described him as a “dynamo talent.”   He has also been recognized by the Century City Bar Association as “Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year” (2011), and by the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel with its Industry Leader Award (2017).

A strong diversity advocate, Jimmy co-chaired the California Minority Counsel Program and was inducted into its “Diversity Leader Hall of Fame” (2015).  Diversity MBA Magazine named him a “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leader” (2015).

Jimmy graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles at the age of 19 (B.A., Communication Studies, specialization in Mass Communication, magna cum laude, 1992) and graduated law school at the age of 22 from the University of Southern California Law Center (Juris Doctor, 1995).
