Dieter Brockmeyer

Dieter Brockmeyer is a senior media industry and innovation expert, author, international speaker, and host. He is Chief Project Office (CPO) of the Brussels based media group Diplomatic World and cofounder of the streaming platform Diplomatic World Media and the Diplomatic World Institute (DWI). He is partner and co-host of the “Two the power of MORE” audio podcast series on innovation thinking and writes an ongoing monthly column on Global Change for Pretoria based “The Diplomatic Society”. He curates international industry events and global awards like the Wholistic World Innovation Trophy (WWIT) that DWI announced in 2021 for the very first time. The award is based on the concept of “Wholistic Innovation” Dieter developed for the Institute and that is explained in his recent book “Pandemia’s Box” available on Amazon.

Dieter Brockmeyer holds a German magister atrium degree in media and new philology of Goethe University in Frankfurt and was a recognized global TV industry expert with literally thousands of features in business media, including “Variety” and “The Hollywood Reporter” and was a regular expert guest on TV news outlets like MSNBC or Germany’s n-tv and DAF (Der Aktionär.TV today).

Since telecommunications and internet was an integrated part of his expertise, Dieter’s interest increasingly moved towards “innovation thinking” and the international conferences he curated (eur§reg from 2010 to 2014 and MCMS, Multichannel Money Stream Congress from 2015 to 2019), dealing with new business models and the new regulatory frameworks for rapidly changing industries. This was the reason that innovation became his main focus when he was asked to co-found DWI in summer 2019 and he became their “Director Innovation & TIME (tech, internet, media and entertainment).

Diplomatic World Institute is a spin off from the Diplomatic World magazine that has been serving the Brussels diplomatic community for over 20 years. It has become a recognized opinion platform for heads of state to NGO leaders to express their vision of our planet’s future. Its quarterly 20,000 copies go to all stakeholders of the Brussels diplomatic and political community. The newly launched Diplomatic World Media streaming platform will extend this service into the global audiovisual world. Diplomatic World understands itself as an interface between diplomacy, politics, business and culture, based on the understanding that everything is connected. This is also the basis for the concept of “Wholistic Innovation”, which Dieter developed for the DWI that was founded to initiate projects with direct global impact that can hardly be operated under a magazine umbrella – that however is closely interlinked with the Institute. We are faced with decades of unprecedented change in human history and global problems that can only be solved by activating all sources of innovation and by cross-sector and -border thinking.

Since 2019 Dieter is a regular speaker at SiGMA events starting with AIBC Malta and the first AIBC and AGS in Dubai. During Malta Week in 2021 he was on panels at all four events including the first Med-Tech World congress.
