Alexander Munro

Alexander Munro is the CEO of Dandelion Networks, a Layer-1 mainnet built for a revolutionary development and design experience. He holds an MBA from Erasmus and UC-Berkeley, a BSc from Western University (Canada), and is pursuing a PhD in Luleå. Alex began his career in venture capital with a UK-based gases company acquired by the Linde Group, before moving into structured and corporate finance with a subsidiary of BNP Paribas. He founded two energy venture capital funds before joining Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, and recently led capital advisory services for Canada’s largest innovation centre, MaRS-Discovery District.

He is on the Board of Directors for Credivera, a Canadian digital identity management company, for which he also co-authors the company’s self-sovereign identity projects for the federal Government of Canada. He continues to advise national governments on fund structures relating to their technology strategies as well as private early-growth technology companies in Cyber and Healthcare on their capital strategies.

In 2021, Alexander Munro co-founded Dandelion Networks based on a parallel “block-lattice” model supported by the Cybersecurity Research Labs (Ryerson University). Incorporating a revolutionary parallel computing architecture and advanced cryptography, Dandelion is presently building out its mainnet and smart-contracts layers.

As a Generation-4 Layer-1 protocol, Dandelion provides developers with a best-in-class runtime speed, seamless cutovers from testnet to mainnet, low-volatility gas, and elegant contract design. We support many customer-facing dApps and use-cases in which iteration efficiencies, costs, reliability and security are priorities. Our current development partners are fast-growth fintechs and Dandelion plans future expansion into CeFi, MMO gaming, and other consumer-facing dApps where iterations, costs, reliability and security are priorities.
