Alex Szul

Alexander Szul is the co-founder of Rome Blockchain Labs, Inc. (RBL), a multi-national blockchain development firm. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh then made the leap to consultative technical sales. During the economic downturn of the COVID-19 pandemic, he began studying blockchain technology and leveraged his insights into building RBL.

RBL’s initial project was the world’s first non-custodial DeFi limit order service, Velox. The team then quickly began developing the Avalanche blockchain’s first money market, BENQI. This platform allows for lending and overcollateralized borrowing of digital assets. Their next two projects aimed to reduce the barrier for DeFi by creating a unified interface, the Rome Terminal, and an enterprise-scale informatics service, RomeNET. RBL also built a second money market, Moonwell, on the Moonbeam and Moonriver parachains. As RBL has grown to over 40 full-time employees and partners, Alexander is now focused on educating new users about the scope and potential of this exciting field.
